RECOVERY OF THE PERFECT SOUL

June 17th, 1916. 

I am here, Jesus.

    I see that you are in better condition tonight.  It may be that we can continue the message. 

    Well, as I was saying, the only way in which a mortal may obtain the development of their soul condition, without the help of the Divine Love, is by attempting to exercise their will, in the way that will cause the thoughts of evil and error to leave them.  To be replaced by thoughts that will bring their heart and soul into Harmony with the Laws of their Creation as mere human.  This can be done by their seeking for those higher things of morality.  The subordinating of the purely animal desires and appetites of the mortal, to the aspirations and desires of the Higher and Nobler part of their Nature. 

    As I have before told you, human was Pure and Good until they, by the exercise of their will, following the suggestions of the animal desires, permitted themself to degenerate from the High and Perfect Condition of their Creation. 

    These sins and desires do not belong to their Original Nature.  For their True Nature was Pure and in Harmony with the Laws of God.  Although, they have lost it by the excessive and wrongful exercise of their will, obeying the desires of their animal nature.  Yet they can recover their condition of Original Purity and Harmony, if they will get rid of these sins and errors.  So that their Nature may again become free from everything that defiles it, or places it out of Harmony with the Laws that Created it. 

    So you see, it is not necessary for human to obtain or add to their Original Condition, any qualities that were not theirs in the beginning.  Merely to get rid of, or eradicate from, that condition those things which are mere excrescences, or parasites.  Thereby have their Nature in the same condition that was theirs when they were Created and were the Perfect Human. 

    So long a time has the Nature, or Condition of the Nature of human been in this state of defilement and alienation from the True Condition of their Creation, that the effort to bring about the restoration will necessarily be great.  They will have to use all their power of will that they are capable of to effectuate this object.  They will find in such efforts, two conflicting forces, always fighting each other for the mastery. 

    The fact that they believe their present condition is the natural one, and that the state and purity and freedom from sin and error is one that does not belong to them naturally, but must be acquired by adding something to what they now have and always possessed, will make the fight more uneven. 

    Therefore, the First Things that human must believe is; that their present condition is not their Natural one, and that they have nothing more, or greater, to accomplish than to relieve themself of those things which prevent their condition from becoming as it was when they were the Perfect Human.  If they will get this belief firmly fixed in their mind.  Assert that they were made by God, that God never Created anything impure, or not in Harmony with His Laws, they, human, will have accomplished the First Step towards their regeneration, and towards success in their effort. 

    They must not consider themself to be a weak, low and unworthy creature of God, not being entitled to those conditions of purity and greatness which made them the Beloved Child of The Father.

    Of course, self-esteem, pride and everything of that nature must be eliminated from the estimate that they must have of themself.  On the contrary, the idea that they are degenerated and utterly helpless being must not be permitted to enter their mind.  Such thoughts do not make them pleasing to God, as they have been taught they do.  Only make them subservient to their masters, sin and error.  Prevent them from asserting their own superiority to these things.  Which is necessary to exist in their conception of their True Condition, in order that they may obtain the ascendancy over those masters. 

    When they shall have assumed this position, then they will realize, that these animal appetites, desires and evil thoughts which arise from them, and from the belief that they are by nature degraded and unworthy of a better and Higher Condition of Nature, are really beings of their own creation.  Subject to their will, self control and total destruction. 

    With such realization will come a consciousness that they are not parts of their Nature.  But foreign to it.  That in order that their Nature may become separated from them, they must look upon them as enemies.  Treat them as such. To be destroyed and utterly extinguished.  Never more to be taken to their bosom and cherished as inalienable and dominant parts of their nature.  Of course, in treating them as such enemies, great watchfulness and determination will have to be exercised.  For they are very insidious and will at all times and in all ways, whenever the opportunity arises, try to convince them, that they are an integral and necessary part of their being, incapable of being separated from them. 

    By the exercise of this belief, based upon a right conception of what is, and what is not, a part of them as the Perfect Human, and by the exercise of their will power in accordance with this conception, they will be able to rescue themself from these unnatural appetites, desires and thoughts of error and sin.  As this belief becomes stronger,  this conception clearer, and their will exercised in closer Harmony with the Two Essentials, these excrescences will gradually, one by one, fall away from them.  Until, at last, they will rise again, The Perfect Human.  With the Pure and Harmonious Nature which God gave them at the time of their Creation. 

    This process will be slow and sometimes hardly perceptible.  For the long years of misbelief in the idea of "original sin", and that God created evil and error for the purpose of defiling humans Nature and making a disobedient devil of them, without any inherent goodness or the possibility of becoming regenerated, unless by the operation of some miracle, will make it difficult for the acquiring of the True Belief as to what they, and what their (True) Nature are, and enable them to become the master, and not remain the servant. 

    God is the Father of All.  Loves all His Children.  As he originally provided for their happiness, so now, He desires that all may be happy.  Even though they may not seek for that Divine Love, which makes mortals and spirits more than the mere Perfect Human. 

    Forgiveness is, in effect, forgetfulness.  When humans, in their efforts cause all these things of evil and sin to cease being a part of their Nature, and only thoughts of purity and righteousness to find a lodgment in their minds, then these other things are forgotten.  Forgiveness has taken place. Human no longer is the slave of false beliefs and unrighteousness.  Nor are they their associates.  Even in memory they become things of nonexistence.  When they get into this condition of purity, freedom and in Harmony with the Laws of their Creation, there exists nothing which can be the object of forgiveness.  They are the Human of Perfect Creation. 

    In all this human must realize that they do not exist by and for themself alone.  For always they are surrounded by mortals, or spirits, or both, exercising upon them their influence for good or evil.  Helping them to turn their thoughts from these things of evil and sin, into those Higher Things, which are theirs by Nature, or causing them to receive and foster these evil thoughts with increased intensity.  They cannot get rid of these influences, of one kind or the other.  Hence, they should seek the influence of those who are good and desire to help them in their efforts towards the recovery of that condition which is theirs by Right of Birth. 

    Among God's Laws, which never change and which work impartially, is the great Law of Attraction.  It works in the case of all mortals and spirits, and never rests.  The great Principle of this Law is;  that like attracts like, that unlike repulses the unlike.  So human must know that as they are, I mean in their state of mind and soul, so necessarily will be thier companions, of those who desire their association.  Hence, they should realize this important Truth, and all that it implies. 

    If their thoughts and deeds are evil, they will attract those spirits, or mortals, who have similar thoughts and deeds.  Who will not help them to higher things.  But who will retard their progress towards their First Estate.  If their thoughts and deeds are good, then their associates will only be those of like qualities, who can and will help them in their progress. 

    Every effort to create good thoughts strengthens the desires and will in that direction.  Assists the coming of other good thoughts.  For with these efforts comes the help of these unseen influences, and the repulsion of the influences of the retarding forces. 

    Human is a Wonderful Being.  The Highest Creation of the Father.  Yet their greatest master is their belief in the power and supremacy of these things of evil, of their own creation. 

    Beyond all this, a means to accomplish humans restitution to their Perfect Estate, is the help of the Father. Which is never refused when human seeks for it in earnest sincere prayer.  Always the Father is willing to respond to the true prayers of humans.  By His Instrumentalities, will make the efforts of human sure and effective.  So that they can acquire that condition, that will free them from all sin,  error and slavery of false belief.  In the mastery of their evil creatures. 

    Human must believe in the Love and Help of the Father. In the humanhood and greatness of themself.  In the utter error of their belief in the mastery of their own children of sin and error.

    I have written enough and must stop, as you are tired. 

So assuring you of my love for you, and my care and help, I will say, goodnight.

    I am here, Luke.

    I come tonight to say a few words concerning the Great Truth of the development of the soul in its natural love, wherein the New Birth is never experienced.  I know that humans think that this natural love has in it a part of the Divinity of the Father's Nature.  That as they develop in the way of purifying it, ridding it of those things which tend to impair its Harmony, they will realize that there exists in their souls this Divinity, of which we have written.  This is not true.  For this natural love partakes only of those elements, which the Father implanted in it, at the time of Humans Creation.  In none of these elements is any of the Qualities of the Divine Nature.

    It is difficult to explain just the distinction between the Divine Love coming from the Father and the natural love also coming from Him, yet, not having any of the Divine Nature, or Qualities, but it is a fact.  The natural love may become so purified, that it may come into Perfect Harmony with the Laws governing its condition and composition.  Yet, fall far short of having in it any of the Divine Love.

    So, as we have explained to you, the soul may obtain this Divine Love and thereby become a part of the Father's Divinity.

    I will now try to explain how the natural love of humans may be developed, so that their souls may come into Harmony with the Law of Love, the natural love, make them very happy, pure and contented beings.

    In the first place, I wish to say that there is no such thing in the world as original sin, or evil.  That God did not create them, or permit them to exist, except as He permits humans to use their own will without limitation.  I mean by this, that He does not say that a human, in the exercise of this will, shall do this, or do that.  As respects to this will, human is untrammeled.  He does say, and His Laws are inexorable in this particular, that humans, when in the exercise of the great power of free will, causes that will to come into conflict with the Will of God, or to violate His Laws, they, humans, must suffer the consequences.

    This may be illustrated by your natural laws, declaring the freedom of the press.  Humans may publish whatsoever they please.  So long as they do not thereby violate the rights of others, or of decency, they may make their publications without fear of the law.  But, when in the exercise of this freedom of speech, as you call it, they violate the law, then they must suffer the consequences of this violation.  So it is with the mortal, who, in the exercise of their free will, violates the Will of the Father, or the Laws limiting its exercise by the mortal, they must suffer the consequences.  The results of this violation, are sin and evil created and in no other way.  Surprising as it may sound to you, humans are the creator of sin and evil, not God, who is only Good.  Then the question arises, how can sin and evil be eradicated from the world?  Every thoughtful human will have the same answer, that is:  by humans ceasing to violate the Will of God, or His Laws, which restrict the exercise of the wills of mortals, to that, which in its right exercise, will not produce sin or evil.  In other words, when humans, by the wrong use of their wills, bring about inharmony, they can, by the right use of their wills, not disturb that Harmony, which when it exists, leaves no room for the presence of sin and error.

    So you see, the one thing necessary in order for humans to become happy and free from everything that defiles them, or causes unhappiness, or discord to exist, is to develop their souls in this natural love, until this love comes into Perfect Unison with the Laws that control it.  Thus may be applied the oft quoted expression; that love is the fulfilling of the Law.  But this means love in its purest and most Perfect State.

    Now, how can this development of the natural love be accomplished by humans?

    The mind, while a powerful helper in this regard, is not of itself sufficient to bring about this great desideratum.  It is true, that with every mortal there is a constant warfare between the appetites and lusts of the flesh and their higher desires.  Hence it is said, that these appetites and desires are sinful.  The cause of evil and the inharmony that exists in the lives of mortals.  But this statement is not altogether True.  For as humans were made with spiritual aspirations and desires, so also were they made with appetites and desires of the flesh.  The latter, of themselves, are not evils.  The failure to make the distinction between the fact that these appetites and desires of the flesh are not evil and the fact that only the perversion of them brings evil, is the great stumbling block that stands in the way of humans developing this natural love, in the manner that I have indicated.  These, what are sometimes called the animal appetites and desires, may be exercised in such a way, as to be in Perfect Harmony with the Laws that control them.  In such exercise, not interfere with, or prevent the development of, this natural love to Perfection.

    Humans, in the free exercise of their will, have in their wanderings, gone beyond the limitations, which the Law of Harmony has placed upon them.  Added to, increased and distorted, the appetites and desires of the flesh, which were originally bestowed upon them.  Hence, have themselves, created those things that are not in Harmony with the Creation of themselves.  So you see, humans are, a creator, as well as a Creature.  As the latter, they cannot alter, or change any of the effects of their creation.  As the former they can alter and change, even abolish the effects of their own creation.  For as the creator, (they) are greater than the things that they created.  Although these things of their own creation have held them in bondage and unhappiness, to a more or less extent, ever since they became their creator.  The strength of this apparent paradox is, that the creator, humans, have for all these long centuries believed it, submitted to their creations.  And still does so.

    So what is the remedy?  Simply this:  humans must awaken to the fact that they are greater than their creatures.  That they (their creations) are subject to their will.  That whenever, by their existence and workings, they bring discord, unhappiness and cause their will to be exercised in opposition to the Will of the Father, then they must be destroyed.  Never be permitted to come into existence again.  Let humans become the masters of their creatures and obedient to the Great Will of their Creator,  they will realize that sin, error and unhappiness will disappear.  Their natural love will come into Harmony with the Laws of its Creation.  Earth will indeed become a heaven, the brotherhood of humans, established on earth.

    If humans will only think, and thinking, believe that all sin, error, and the resulting unhappiness and sorrow in the world, are children of their own creation and not the children of God.  That in the economy of His Universe, He leaves the control, management and even the existence of these children, to the will of their parents (humans), they will (then) understand why evil exists.  Why wars, hatred and misery continue on earth to blight the lives and happiness of mortals.  Why, as some say, especially the so-called Christians, God permits all these things to exist and flourish, apparently contradict the Great Truth, that He is Good and the Fountainhead of All Goodness.

    The Universe, the inhabitants thereof and the greatest production of His Power, humans, were all Created by God. But sin, error and their awful followings, are the creatures of humans.  The Laws of His Universe work in Harmony.  All is Good.  Even the apparent inharmony which humans have created, does not affect that Great Harmony.  But is confined, in its workings, to humans themselves.  Only  humans are apparently in inharmony.  That is caused by humans themselves.

    Suppose, for a moment, that human will was working in accord with that of The Father.  Can you imagine that there would be any of these creatures of humans perverted will in existence?  Would there be any evil, or hatred, or disease, or suffering known to the consciousness of humans?  I tell you, no.  Now I say, humans, their creator, must destroy these inharmonious creatures.  Humans must kill and bury, deep and forever, these children of the perverted exercise of their will.  Until then, sin, error and all their concomitants, will continue to live, flourish and torment their creators.  I say here, with all emphasis and with a full realization of the great significance and responsibility, in the sight of God, which I assume in saying it, that humans can destroy these bastard creatures of their will, so perverted and discordant.

    Their natural love, if permitted to assert its God-given powers and functions, is sufficient to bring their will in accord with that of The Father and turn their thoughts away from these children of theirs.  To make them conscious of Purity and Truth.  The dead desires and dead appetites will bury their dead children and humans will come into their own again.  But then comes the question, how are humans to accomplish this great end, so devoutly to be wished for?

    Well, it is late now.  I will write upon this important feature, of this development of their natural love, in my next message.  So with all my love I will say good night.  Your brother in Christ, Luke

I am here, Luke.

    Well do you think you can take my message tonight?  It looks like you may.  At any rate we will try.

    As I was saying, "In what way is a human to obtain this development of the soul in its natural love?"

    In the first place, they must recognize the fact that they do not live to themself, alone.  That what they conceive to be the workings of their own mind and will, are not always the result of thoughts and desires that originate in them. But are largely the products of the influences of the workings of the minds of spirits, who are around them trying to impress them with their desires and wills. Consequently, you will understand that it is very important to humans, as to what kind of spirit influences they have surrounding and working upon them.  If these influences are good, the better it is for their progress in the development of this natural love.  But, if they are evil influences, then, of course, such development is retarded.

    Consequently, the first thing for a human to do is to attempt to attract to themself influences of the higher nature.  They can do so by trying to cultivate good thoughts and to indulge in good and moral acts.

    The Great Law of Attraction that we have written about, applies and works in such cases as this.  As it does in every other relation of God's Universe.  If a humans thoughts are evil, there will always be attracted to them spirits of similar thoughts.  When they come to them, they attempt to and succeed in intensifying, these evil thoughts of theirs, which attract them to them.

    It must emphatically be understood in this regard, that human may and often does originate their own thoughts and desires.  It is not necessary that any influence of these evil spirits should be present and operate upon their brain, or affections, in order that these evil thoughts and desires should come into existence.  Again, human has a will power that is susceptible of being exercised, free from the wills of these evil spirits.  You will see how True this is when you remember that they can exercise that will power, free and independent from the Will of God Himself.

    So I say, that these thoughts and desires may and do originate in human, free and independent of the wills, or influences, of these evil spirits.  As a fact, these spirits are attracted to them only when these thoughts that they have originated are evil.

    Now, if human would have this progress that I speak of, they should endeavor to have good, pure thoughts and desires.  Then they will attract to them spirits who are good and pure.  Their influences will help them to a wonderful degree, in strengthening and increasing these thoughts. Make it less and less likely that evil thoughts will arise in their brain, or evil desires in their affections.  As a consequence, their will power will be exercised in doing those things which are good and moral.  Now, while human may originate these thoughts and desires, they must also know, as a Truth, that this progress is not dependent upon themselves alone.  For when they are in that condition to attract the good spirits, they will invariably come to them and render their help.  It will prove to be a wonderful and never failing help.

    Now, humans thoughts and desires are not always, as may be supposed, the result of something that may be hidden within themself, and of which they may not know its existence.  I mean not in all cases, and probably in only a minority of cases.  For most frequently are these thoughts and desires are the children of an objective influence, that comes to them by reason of objects becoming sensible to their ordinary senses, which create, or suggest, these thoughts or desires.  Without going into details you will understand what I mean, but as a mere illustration:  a glass of whiskey may and does suggest to a human who likes whiskey, the thought and desire that they should take a drink.  Thereby bring into operation their will, which is followed by the act of drinking.  So with many other objects which a human meets in the course of their daily life.  But these thoughts and desires arise not only from seeing objects, but also from feeling and tasting them.  Again, these objective suggestions, causing these thoughts and desires, arise and exist not only from the real object sensed, but also from words and thoughts which are expressed by other human beings in course of conversations, or in books and literature (and movies).  When they come in this way, they are frequently more effective than in any other.  Hence, as these objective words and thoughts enter the mind of human, they create similar thoughts, which frequently intensify and attract the evil spirits of like thoughts, with their degenerating influences.  Hence the importance of a human avoiding companionship where such communications take place, and the books and literature where these evil suggestions are made.

    It has been well said, that evil communications corrupt good manners.  I may add that such communications corrupt good thoughts, produce evil desires and retard the progress of the soul in its natural love.  For it must be remembered that this love is pure and free from all evil, or taint of defilement, when it is fully developed.  Anything that tends to defile it, retards the progression of the soul in this particular.

    So the plain lesson to be drawn from all this is that human must, in the first place, make the effort to have only good, pure thoughts and desires from their inner self.  Next, they must avoid those objects and associations that tend to cause to arise in them these evil thoughts.  Thirdly, they must learn the Truth, that when they have these evil thoughts, they attract to themself spirits of evil, who by their influence can and do intensify these evil thoughts and desires.  I know as regards this last mentioned Truth, that the majority of humans have no knowledge of its existence. But it is time that they should learn that such a danger to their soul's progression does exist and is always imminent.

    They should learn this other fact; that when their thoughts are pure and free from defilement, they have surrounding them the influence of good spirits, who work to increase and make permanent their good thoughts.  As these good thoughts continue, the natural love develops towards its Pristine Condition of Purity.  Human comes nearer to their Designed Condition of Existence.

    So you will see from this, that as humans thoughts and desires become freed from these things that tend to defile them, they naturally progress toward that condition which is necessary, in order for them to have this development of the soul in its natural love.

    Again, the development may be helped very much by human, thinking and doing acts of charity and kindness, and observing the golden rule.  For every act of charity, kindness and self sacrifice for the sake of others, has its reflex action in their own condition of love and soul, and helps their development.

    In short, the observance by human of all the moral laws, which are many and varied, tends to bring about the development of the natural love.  This must be remembered; that as this development proceeds, the tendency to indulge in the perverted appetites of the flesh, as they are called, will disappear.  As it disappears, this love, of course, becomes purer and sweeter.  Brings human nearer to their state of perfection.

    Again, the meditation upon spiritual things, the outflowing of this love towards the Father, will cause the progression.  For while all humans, as we have said, do not seek for the Divine Love, yet as all humans are Children of God.  He helps them, to the full extent of their desires towards happiness and the Perfecting of this love in its Natural Pure State, with which He endowed them at their Creation.  Upon their will and aspirations depends the nature of the help which the Father gives to them. Always He gives His Help and Blessings to the fullest.  His Great Desire is that human shall become Perfect in that love which they possess and which they seek for.  The natural love in its qualities may become as Perfect in human, as may the Divine Love in its qualities.  Each is just as much in Harmony with God's Universe, in its respective qualities, as is the other.

    So I say, human is helped, and more than in any other way, by their meditations of the higher things of their being, by prayer and aspirations to the Father, who hears the prayers of the human who has only this natural love. Answers them just as He does the prayers of the human who has the Divine Love in their soul.

    Ultimately all sin and evil will be eradicated from the Universe.  Human in their mere natural love will become Pure, Perfected and Happy.

    I have tried in my inefficient way to show human how they may progress in the development of their natural love. If they will follow my advice, they will succeed.  For as human, by the indulging of these perverted appetites of the flesh, and the exercise of their will power, fell to a low degree of degeneracy, so they can, by ceasing to indulge in these perverted appetites, and the exercise of that same will power, rise again to their condition of purity in their natural love.  Besides, they have the Help of the Father and the good angels in their efforts to recover.  Also the experience of the result of their fall.  Which they may not be conscious of, but which, in their inner self has an existence and is continually working.

    Well my dear brother I must stop.  I feel that you have taken my message very successfully.  Read it over and correct errors of construction.  I will come soon and write again.  Your brother in Christ, Luke

I am here, Jesus.

    I come today to tell you that I am pleased with you in your efforts to find the Truth of what we have taught as to God and of the relation of human to Him.  I have been with you in your reading of several days past.  Have observed the effect upon you of the contrast between the beliefs and teachings of humans, as you have read them, and the Teachings of Truth that we have revealed to you in our messages.  While these writings that you have been reading have in them some things of Truth, yet there are many things that are wholly untrue, the mere results of speculation.

    Today, if you feel in condition, I will instruct you as to some of the errors and deficiencies of Christian Science and the want of the true comprehension of its founder of the Realities of Being.

    She writes and teaches that there is nothing real in sin, error and disease.  That their apparent existence is wholly due to the mortal mind.  That when this mind denies the existence of these things, they will no longer exist.  Well, in this assertion there is a large grain of Truth.  But in order to understand and apply this Truth, more than a mere denial of their existence must be taught and believed by humans.

    It is true that God never Created anything of evil.  Or, that which is not in Harmony with His Nature and Essence, which are only Good.  That to ascribe the existence of these evils and discords to God is erroneous and blasphemous.  But the fact remains that these things exist.  The mere denial of their existence, does not remedy the harmful results that flow from such existence.

    Human suffers from evil, error and disease.  Has always so suffered, since the fall from their state of Perfection.  Always will suffer in consequence of there being in their consciousness these things of reality.  The mere calling them the result of "Mortal mind", will not explain their existence, or furnish a remedy by which they may be gotten rid of.

    First arises the necessity of understanding how, and by what means these things came into existence.  Then it will become easier for the understanding of the means and the way by which they may be eliminated from the life and "apparent" nature of humankind.

    As I have already told you, these things, foreign to God's Creation, were created by humans alone in the excessive and unlawful exercise of their will power, in following out the suggestions and desires of their animal appetites, which unduly asserted themselves when humans lost a part of their spirituality by their disobedience.  Their creation was the result of something more than what the founder of that Science calls the "mortal mind".  For the mind is only a part of humans being.  While the faculties of the mind must be used in the operation of all the powers and qualities of human, yet the mind is not the originator of all their desires,  appetites and emotions.  The emotional nature and affections are distinct from the mere mind, or the intellectual faculties, and as regards sin and error, are generally the creators of the same.  Although the mind may and does foster and increase these things so created.  Then human must understand that these excrescences to their Perfect Creation are real and existing.  Result in their own damnation and alienation from the good.  Are antagonistic to their original and Natural Condition of Perfection.  That they cannot be swept out of existence by the mere assertion that they are not real.

    Again, human must understand that they (sin and error) are the creatures primarily of the inordinate exercise of the animal appetites and desires.  Not of the exercise of the mind.  To be eradicated by the same process in reverse order as was used in their creation.  Of course it must not be lost sight of, that in using this process, the faculties of the mind must be brought into operation.  Just as they were in the creation of these existences.  The great fact to be remembered in this process is, that these things are real.  Not things of the mere imagination, which is the equivalent of the founder's "mortal mind".  Now, when human grasps the meaning, as thus explained, of what these things really are, and how they came into being, then they will the more readily comprehend the way, or the means, by which they are to be destroyed.  Never again permitted to become a part of their being.  For while they do not, by Nature, belong to their being, yet by reason of their being the creator of them, they are.  So far as their consciousness is concerned, together with all the results flowing therefrom, a part of their being.  That part which keeps them in discord with the Laws controlling their own existence.  The purity of their True Being (the soul) is always besmirched by the impurities of their own artificial being (the mind).  Always will be, until they eliminate these impurities.  Which, as to them and to their fellow human, are real, persistent existences.

    The will, however, is the great force that must be used in the destruction of these excrescences.  As this will power in human is free and untrammeled, and in its operations follows the suggestions and desires of the appetites, both animal and spiritual, of human, it therefore becomes apparent that these appetites and desires must first be controlled and directed in that direction that will cause the will to be exercised in such a manner as to lead the thoughts and deeds towards the realization of the desires and appetites in Harmony with God's Laws (of Love).

    As sin and evil are not the creatures of the spiritual desires, but wholly of the animal, then to eradicate from humans being, these things of evil and sin, the efforts of human must be directed towards the supplanting of the unlawful and inharmonious animal desires and appetites, by appetites and desires arising from the same source that is in Harmony with the Laws creating this very source.

    Human was Created by God with animal appetites, just as they were Created with spiritual aspirations.  The one is just as harmonious with the Laws of their Creation, as the other.  The loss of the spiritual aspiration, or the perversion of the animal appetites, similarly causes human to become out of harmony with these Laws.  So that human, in order to become free from these foreign parts of their being, must strive, not by a denial of their reality, but by the effort to supplant them.  To recreate, as it were, in themself, the animal appetites that are consistent and in Harmony, with those which were theirs when they were made the Perfect Human.  In other words, to destroy the beings of their own creation, and possess only those of the Creation of God.  Of course, in this effort, they will have to use their mind, mortal, or otherwise.  In addition, they will also have to exercise the faculties of their emotional and affectional nature, which are not of the mind but the soul.  Mere negation, or belief, will not be sufficient.  But desires and cravings for these things which engender sin must be supplanted by desires and craving for those things which are in Harmony with their Creation.  So, I repeat, the teachings that sin, error and disease are not real, and are no part of humans being, as they now exist and live, is erroneous.  When not understood, harmful, and not sufficient to bring about the regeneration of human.

    In one sense it is true that sin, error and disease are not real.  That means, that so far as God's Creation of Human is concerned they have no existence.  For He Created only that which was Good and in Harmony with His Perfect Laws.  But as human is a creator, as well as a creature.  As these things are the creatures of human alone, then so far as the being of human is involved, they have a reality which will persist until their creator, human, has destroyed them.
